Tension? What tension?

The name of this blog was taken from a quote by Bono. He was speaking to the idea that his faith and his profession could come into conflict. He described it as “living in the tension” and it struck a chord with me. Most of the time, being a wife, mom, daughter, sister, employee, volunteer, etc. works very well and I feel like I have a grip on the various moving parts of my life.

Other times it feels like I am walking the tightrope and someone put in too much slack and I am slowly careening towards disaster (or quickly careening there). I do not think I am unique in this area. So think of tension that way–not that my personal life is fraught with interpersonal conflict and strife.
